Live Like Time Is Borrowed
We spend so much time waiting for tomorrow that we forget to live today.
We live as though we have unlimited time.
There will always be another weekend to visit our parents. Another chance to call that friend. Another year to take the trip. Another morning to watch the sunrise. Another opportunity to say what we have been meaning to say.
So we postpone things.
Not because they do not matter to us, but because we assume there will always be more time.
We tell ourselves we will start living differently once life becomes less busy. We will take care of ourselves once work slows down. We will spend more time with the people we love once our schedules ease up. We will finally pursue the things we care about when the timing feels right.
But somehow, life never really becomes less busy.
There is always another responsibility waiting, another problem to solve, another goal to reach. And while we are busy preparing to live, time keeps moving.
The Stoics understood something many of us spend our lives avoiding: time is not something we own.
